This soap is infused with sacred and traditional essences of Mayan ceremonial incense: Frankincense, Myrrh, and Copal from the Mayan site Uaxactun. Copal has been used traditionally by the Maya in Guatemala for burning during scared ceremonies and it believed to purify the air and the spirit. To the ancient Maya, the divine God of the earth extracted copal resin from The tree of life and gave it as a gift to humans. It is a resin similar to amber with a smoky, sweet aroma. The organic copal used by Tierra & Lava is harvested from trees from the Uaxactun village and Mayan site of Guatemala (just behind Tikal). Frankincense and Myrrh are combined with Copal to burn as incense for ceremonies and also happen to have amazing skincare properties that the Egyptians made use of centuries ago.

Essential Oil Frankincense helps to soothe the skin and improve its elasticity and tone, reducing blemishes and discloration.

How to use it
Morning & Night
The soap create a beautiful light foam that lathers and moisturizes hands. Simply rub between wet hands until hands feel clean. Some of our soaps contain gentle exfoliants that you may feel when cleansing. Great for hands and body.
Founder, Lucy's Tip
Store in a cool, dry place once opened. Once in use, keep it on a soap dish or surface that allows the water to drain. As it is a natural product, if allowed to sit in a wet surface for too long, the soap bar will dissolve.
