Raquel Roxanne Nowak is a prenatal wellness expert and founder of Matrescence, a motherhood lifestyle brand that creates products that make it easier for expectant and new moms to adopt a self-care ritual. Nowak saw a need in the market for natural but luxurious skincare products that addressed hormonal fluctuations that women have during motherhood and that would also be 100% safe for pregnant and breast-feeding moms. Nowak then sought out industry-leading chemists to formulate the Matrescence Skin face and body lines. She credits her Jamaican heritage — and a mother who swore by aloe vera, chamomile, plantain, cucumber, and marigold for glowing skin — with her love of fresh-from-the-earth beauty solutions.
