Salwa Petersen
A graduate of Harvard and Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Salwa made the shift in adulthood from a fruitful career in law, to product development for some of the world’s largest beauty brands. Through helping to launch some of today’s best-selling personal care products, she learned a tremendous amount about luxury product formulation. Today, Salwa Petersen is a much sought-after expert in haircare and natural fragrance development and her namesake brand is the culmination of that invaluable experience, combined with an extensive knowledge of the Chadian beauty rituals passed down through generations in her own family. A modern-day nomad, growing up in the vast lands of northern Chad, Salwa Petersen practiced the Ritual of Chébé with her family– a custom during which Chadian women use the powdered seed of the croton gratissimus tree to treat and grow their famously long hair.
